IN THE MOUNTAINS I. Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

Before starting that long journey of 6 days and 5 nights, that mountaineer looks up to those impressive peaks of the Alps, before this trip that will make you travel a part of the old continent, from Germany, through Austria, Switzerland, France to get to Italy It is accompanied by the entire group of mountaineers, climbers, also some other tourists infiltrated. All carry all those backpacks, food and all kinds of utensils for the trip.

Most of them have those faces tanned by the sun, with wrinkles and scars that seem to draw each one of the innumerable paths that they have traveled for decades. There is one of the guides who says he comes from far away, he has slanted eyes and a nice and warm expression that seems to be born purely from these wise mountains. How many stories, anecdotes, experiences that can not be appealed due to not knowing the language and not proceeding from the moment, but neither is it necessary. After coming from such a distant and noisy place, what most appeals to you is to take those little sips of silence that surround each and every one of the details of the environment.

Once the ascension begins, the peculiar and permanent sound of the stones in contact with the shoes makes it easily enter each step, where a whole world of silence that seems to have been born here, in these mountains opens up. Now he has forgotten all the problems and worries that have been left down there in the valley. There is this heavy sound and the look every time more astonished and amazed down, as if there was something there. And the question: How is this possible...How is this fascination possible for what happens down there ... is there so much ...?! they are only feet, stones and rocks, dust and weeds in movement, and the constant sound that accompanies the contact with the shoes. Nothing more than that, but ... that ends up trapping him completely...

While they leave the pleasant paths behind, they lose their silhouette to become steeper until they become ridges and ridges. As much as you want, you can never feel safe there, but at the same time you do not feel the slightest concern. The most you can do is to be awake to anything that happens, to any danger, to any notice of the mountain or whoever or whatever. And if something has to happen, it will happen anyway. Now it does not matter anything more than enjoying the views, and if it happens that, step by step, you get there up there, to that peak that you can see closer and closer, you just want to arrive accompanied by this warm and pleasant awakening, only with her, to contemplate, even more if possible, all that landscape from the highest, from the most supreme, from this amplitude that floods all these landscapes.

That first step towards the ascension was also the last.
