Inspirational phrases for everyday life
The Writings belongs to briefs fragments of the new book. Topics ranging from the present synergy and the co-creation of reality, the sensitive exploration of present reality, as we observe the world or relate to violence, fear or desire.
EXPLORING THE DIRECT EXPERIENCE
“A new way of exploring the present experience is to become aware of the wide visual panorama that we always have before us instead of constantly directing it towards the objects. To do it as a game is to know at first the physical space between them, as well as raise your head looking at the sky to notice all that space that surrounds us, or for example leave the look as lost in the emptiness of a full store of objects, or direct it at the end of a street with all those people ... Look at the breadth of the living screen that we have before us without fixing our attention to any specific point but always placed in space.”
COCREATION OF REALITY
“Everything we experience is part of the particular interpretation that makes our mind of reality and here by mind means the senses intertwined with thoughts. This interpretation of reality through the senses is intermingled with individual conditioning, physical, family, social, geographic, cultural, ... etc. Everything and that there is a certain uniformity in the way we see reality, what we perceive as world, body or things, is only a unique interpretation we make of reality, of this incredible and fascinating possibility of creating through the mind the world, our own world ...”
THE MENTAL FIXATION
“We have been carrying too much time with the weight of the body, the image of the face and all those repetitive thoughts related to the individual, and not only during the day, but also we drag them to the night rest. That fixation of the attention in oneself is what produces the true exhaustion, pain and suffering, which in each individual manifests itself in a different way”
THE MEANING OF LIFE
“If we had to answer with a single word the simple question, What is the meaning of life? The only possible answer could not be other than love.”
VIOLENCE
“The root of violence is not to accept a feeling, a sensation or a thought that occurs in our present experience. The principle of that resistance is always very subtle and it springs up in any of the small everyday details, but when we do not pay enough attention or we do not give it space of calm, that tension is increasing, taking more and more strength becoming violence. Like the metaphor of the fluttering of the butterfly that ends up creating a hurricane, what we see manifested in our body and in the world as all that fear, violence and hate is already the result of a long process of accumulation of mental waste of separation. Hence the urgency of paying attention to present experience.”
FEEL PURE
“This pure feeling naturally absorbs the object, feels it through touch, looks at it through sight, smells it through smell, listens through the ear, tastes it through taste. In other words, this presence makes its way into the world through the channels of the senses, taking shape from this integral experience.”
FEAR
“When we fully immerse ourselves in feeling any kind of fear, many times we need to return to the surface and breathe as a dolphin or whale would. In fact, fear is related to increased breathing such as anxiety and lack of breathing as depression. In both cases our body is breathless and exhausted, and this has to do with a normal process in which we become familiar with the feeling of fear in the body. Little by little or suddenly, we are integrating all those layers of suffering that are detached until they are completely free.”
LONELINESS
“One never again feels lonely in a personal sense when it becomes loneliness itself. Then it becomes solitary with a flower, with a person, with oneself. It is a solitude accompanied by / with everything where that / this everything becomes silent, close, intimate.”
SILENCE
“At the moment, loneliness demands all our attention through silence. There is no one else who can do it for us or anything more indicated than silence to heal all those imbalances and those possible psychological or mental wounds.”
LOVE
“To feel this simple absence of separation in the direct perception of experience is to discover love in everything.”
